The Science of Art vs. The Art of Science

I'm always amused when I find myself in Little Hall. There never seems to be a lack of color and imagination on display. I always leave feeling quite invigorated. For some reason, I'm incredibly susceptible to sights changing my mood (it's the same way with music). I wish I had some artistic talent, but I guess I won't know until I experiment a little more. I e-mailed my mom about this, I told her I wanted to be an artist. She responded:

I had to say oh no about being an artist. (Because it seems like such a hard life.) Grandpa says "Don't stifle your kids creativity"
Love you (even if you're not a scientist)
Mom

I replied:

Yay Grandpa! Okay, well, maybe I can get a minor in art?! Why can't
you minor in something important, like Being Awesome? I won't attempt
to be an artist, I'm just saying, I have a really awesome imagination,
and it's a shame that it's going to have to go to waste if I can't
find an appropriate outlet.

In turn she responded:

great scientists need imagination

I hope she's right. But I hope I can be a great scientist and a great artist. Too bad we all only have one life to live.
